For years. A hair the laser has destroyed won't grow back. Over time, dormant follicles can wake up — that happens with any hair removal method, and sooner with hormonal changes or hormonal medication. Then a maintenance session is all you need: if you've done the full course with us, it costs 30% less.

No. The laser works on hairs that are in the growth phase on the day of the session. The rest are resting and wake up a few weeks later — that's the next batch, not a failure. That's why a course is 6–8 sessions. So we don't judge the result on the day of your visit — we invite you exactly when the next batch has grown in. We judge it at peak smoothness, about 3 weeks after a session: if you stay smooth longer than before the course, or the hair grows back finer, lighter and sparser, the laser is working. Our guarantee is based on the same check.

No. Even with full XL coverage, hair comes back in patches — not every hair is in the growth phase, and each follicle has its own rhythm. It evens out by the end of the course.

The treatment itself takes 15–20 minutes; the whole visit about half an hour.

It's a comfortable treatment: on a scale of 1 to 5, clients usually feel a 2–3 — like a light micro-current, a rubber-band snap or gentle pinpricks. 360° contact cooling chills the skin with every pulse, and if you feel any discomfort, I adjust the settings straight away.

No. The laser cools your skin with every pulse, and I set it to how you feel: on a scale of 1 to 5 we work at a 2–3. You don't have to grit your teeth to get results.

Yes. If you prefer, I step out while you undress. You can keep a pareo or disposable underwear on, and we go through every step beforehand. Ask anything — nobody here comments or judges.

No. There's a corner with micellar water and cotton pads, and I disinfect the skin before the session anyway. It's not something I even notice.

After every client I clean and disinfect the couch and the laser handpieces with Velox Foam Extra (Medisept), following the manufacturer's instructions. I disinfect my hands and gloves with Sterillhand (Alpinus Medica), and before the session I cleanse your skin with an octenidine antiseptic. Pareos are washed and disinfected after every client; wipes and underwear are single-use.

Yes, if the area is shaved, there are no contraindications and there's time in the schedule. You can also just come for a chat — the consultation is free and there's no obligation.

Shave the area with a razor 3–12 hours before your visit (or we can shave it for you for 50 zł), don't remove hair from the root — waxing, epilating, plucking — for 4 weeks, and avoid intense tanning for at least 7 days. Full guide →

For 24–48 hours avoid hot baths, saunas, swimming pools, intense exercise and scrubs. Don't tan for 7–14 days. The hair falls out gradually over 1–3 weeks. All aftercare tips →

Rarely, and only small ones. Sometimes a shedding hair gets stuck at the opening of the follicle and leaves a tiny dot that clears on its own. Keep the area clean for the first 24 hours and use a gentle scrub after a few days. And don't plan a long journey in the first 24 hours where the area will rub.

Blonde and light brown hair with pigment respond well — we've had successful courses on fair hair on arms, legs and underarms. Not sure about yours? At the free consultation I'll do a few test pulses with settings for your hair, and over 2–4 weeks you watch whether it falls out — shedding is the sign the laser is working. Grey, red and very fair hair doesn't respond to the laser.

Yes, just not straight away. A fine, light hair after a course is often a transitional stage. Give it time — after a few months it's often thicker and darker, and then the laser can catch it. I won't sell you sessions that won't do anything right now.

In our practice, a little more slowly. The skin there is darker and uneven, so I use the small S handpiece and adjust the settings. By the end of the course the result evens out across the whole area.

Yes, you can have the treatment. With PCOS and other hormonal conditions new hairs can appear more often, so the course may be longer and maintenance sessions more frequent. We'll plan it together at the consultation.

Usually, yes. Results depend on the quality of the device, how well it's serviced and the settings — the typical reasons for a weak result are a weak device, overly cautious settings and sessions too close together. Our MeDioStar is serviced and checked regularly. I'll look at the area at a free consultation and tell you straight what to expect. No. The laser uses infrared light at 808 and 940 nm — non-ionising radiation (ICNIRP). It doesn't carry enough energy to damage the DNA in your cells, the way X-rays and sunbed UV do. The light hits the pigment in the hair follicle a few millimetres under the skin and turns into heat. A review of research on lasers and IPL found no evidence of a credible cancer risk (Lasers in Medical Science, 2017). I cover moles with white paste, and any mark that worries you gets checked by a dermatologist first.
