Laser hair removal aftercare — what to do after treatment

Thank you for choosing LASERRIX 🤍 To help your skin recover comfortably and get the best possible result from the full course, follow these at-home recommendations.

What matters now

01

The first 24–48 hours

Your skin needs a gentle routine: a warm shower, loose clothing, gentle moisturising and no rubbing.

02

Soothing care

Apply a gentle aloe, panthenol and allantoin gel or cream 1–2 times a day for 2–3 days.

03

SPF 50

IMPORTANT

Essential on exposed areas: face, neck, arms and legs during the sunny season. Apply in the morning and reapply when the sun is strong. We recommend avoiding tanning for at least 7–14 days after treatment.

04

Hair sheds gradually

1–3 weeks

After treatment, hair may shed over 1–3 weeks. If possible, try to shave the treated area less often during the first 2 weeks after treatment — this can make it easier for your skin as the hair naturally sheds, and the visible result may look neater.

The first 24–48 hours after laser hair removal

Your skin needs a gentle routine

What might you notice after treatment?

In the first hours, your skin may be slightly pink, sensitive, warm to the touch or a little dry, with a mild goosebump-like feeling or tingling.

This is a normal, individual skin response. It usually settles on its own.

Recommended:

  • wear loose clothing
  • avoid tight synthetic clothing
  • avoid rubbing the treated area
  • take a warm, not hot, shower
  • moisturise gently
  • apply a soothing gel or cream

Not recommended:

  • hot baths
  • sauna and steam bath
  • tanning beds
  • swimming pools
  • intense exercise
  • vigorous rubbing of the skin
  • exfoliants and rough sponges
  • alcohol-based products
  • acids
  • retinol
  • self-tanner
  • massage of the treated area

Tanning, sun and SPF after laser hair removal

Tanning and sun

  • It is important to avoid active tanning after laser hair removal.
  • We recommend avoiding tanning for at least 7–14 days after treatment.
  • Apply SPF 50 to exposed areas, do not use tanning beds and do not have treatment on a fresh tan.
  • A fresh tan increases skin sensitivity and may raise the risk of irritation or pigmentation.
SPF 50 · IMPORTANT

Essential on exposed areas: face, neck, arms and legs during the sunny season. Apply in the morning and reapply when the sun is strong. We recommend avoiding tanning for at least 7–14 days after treatment.

Shaving and hair shedding after laser hair removal

Shaving and hair shedding

1–3 weeks

Hair does not disappear immediately after treatment. It gradually emerges from the skin and may shed over 1–3 weeks.

If possible, try to shave the treated area less often during the first 1–2 weeks after treatment. This can make it easier for your skin as the hair naturally sheds, and the visible result may look neater.

If you need to shave, you can. Shaving does not affect the actual result of the laser, only the short-term appearance.

Between treatments

Between treatments, you may remove hair only with a razor.

Do not use:

  • wax
  • sugaring paste
  • tweezers
  • an epilator
  • depilatory creams without consulting a specialist

Gentle skin refreshment between treatments

After 4–5 days, if your skin is completely calm, you can introduce gentle skin refreshment:

  • enzyme powder
  • gentle moisturising
  • skincare recommended by a LASERRIX specialist

This may help reduce roughness, keep skin smooth, lower the risk of ingrown hairs and improve how your skin looks between treatments.

How to use enzyme powder:

  • Mix a small amount of powder with water in your palm until it forms a gentle foam.
  • Apply to the skin with light movements for 30–60 seconds.
  • Do not rub aggressively.
  • Rinse with water and apply moisturiser.
  • Use 1–2 times a week.
  • Do not use on irritated skin.
  • Do not use for 3–5 days before your next treatment.

How to prepare for your next treatment

Before your next treatment

  • Shave the area thoroughly 3–12 hours before your appointment.
  • On the day of treatment, your skin should be clean: no creams, oils, self-tanner or antiperspirant.
  • If your skin is irritated, burned, has active skin changes or a fresh tan, write to us in advance.
